Position Summary

We are seeking an accomplished HR Manager to join our growing HR team to partner on the strategic development and implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs aligned to business needs in our fast-paced and dynamic biotech environment. 

The successful candidate will be able to translate a thorough understanding of business requirements into progressive HR programs and approaches covering the full employee lifecycle tailored to our vibrant company culture. This role will be involved in HR business partnership, employee relations, performance management, HRIS and reporting, talent development and learning, culture/organization development, employment law and compliance, and will partner with the Talent Acquisition team regarding onboarding and workforce planning. This position requires enthusiasm, passion, business acumen, and a desire to work toward the creation of important new medicines for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a wide range of HR initiatives and proactively provide hands-on HR guidance
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with the business
  • Design, deliver, and develop high-quality, effective HR solutions to address identified needs, gaps, and development opportunities across all levels within the organization
  • Work with leaders within client groups to understand core capabilities needed to drive business results, and translate into actionable developmental plans for functional teams and individuals
  • Provide ongoing support to business leaders by serving as a "sounding board" in both a business and people-related capacity
  • Utilize consulting skills to influence, coach, and provide feedback to employees at all levels
  • Partner with business groups to focus on building the company culture, including team development, conflict resolution, and fostering an environment of open feedback and communication
  • Drive consistency in administering human resources policies and procedures to ensure that employees receive appropriate and equitable treatment
  • Advise and coach managers to implement effective performance management to create and sustain a high-performance workforce
  • Collaborate with HR management to lead complex employee relations issues, including management of the process and employee communication
  • Implement and communicate HR support that will benefit the strategic growth of the business
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team regarding recruitment for open headcount
  • Participate in the development of departmental goals and objectives
  • Assist and drive various HR projects and actively participate in all other HR initiatives and programs as appropriate
  • May perform other job-related duties as requested or required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a HR Generalist, preferably in a biotech/ pharmaceutical organization
  • Proven experience in development and implementation of various HR initiatives is required
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex employee relations issues
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and establish rapport with all levels of the organization
  • Strong team player who has a customer service approach and is solutions-oriented
  • Outstanding communication skills and proven success in communicating effectively with all levels
  • Business acumen, high integrity, and multi-tasking ability are important success factors for this role
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using sound judgment consistent with policies and practices
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws including leaves administration practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Human Resource Information Systems strongly preferred
