Position Summary

We are seeking a research associate/senior research associate to join our Process and Analytical Development team at CRISPR Therapeutics.  We are a highly dynamic team developing novel cell therapies for the treatment of cancer.  The successful candidate will have a solid background of immunology & T-cell biology and have experience with characterization and functional assays for T-cells.  The successful candidate will have a team-oriented mindset, excellent attention to detail and great enthusiasm. 

Responsibilities

  • Culture and selection of T cells
  • Planning and execution of gene modification in T-cells using CRISPR/CAS9 technology
  • Characterization and functional assessment of T-cells using flow cytometry
  • Monitor efficiency of gene editing in T-cells
  • Contribute to proof of concept studies, analyze data and present to a broader audience under guidance of a senior scientist

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline and 4+ years of relevant research experience
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, isolation and primary culture of T-cells
  • Skilled in cellular and molecular biology techniques (ELISA, QPCR, ddPCR, Sanger Sequencing, NGS)
  • Ability to design and execute multi-color flow cytometry experiments including sample preparation, instrument operation and perform analysis using FlowJo or another platform.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Adaptability to work either independently or within a team-centric environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A track record of intellectually challenging oneself to enhance scientific abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in immunology or T-cell biology and experience with design and execution of characterization and functional assays
  • Experience manipulating human T cells
  • Experience with gene editing technologies
  • Skilled with flow-cytometry
