Scientist, Liver Cell Biology

Position Summary

CRISPR Therapeutics is seeking an outstanding Cell Biologist with experience in liver biology and in vitro cultures of hepatocytes, liver derived cells and/or induced hepatocyte-like cells to join our research team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This position will support our cell biology efforts to develop CRISPR/Cas9 based gene editing therapies for liver disease. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in developing disease-relevant cell-based models and assays and in studying drug action at the cellular level using advanced biological techniques. The candidate will be integrated into a fast-paced drug discovery and development team committed to creating novel gene-based medicines for patients with serious diseases.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the overall and project strategy for liver and cell biology research
  • Plan, develop and perform liver biology research
  • Develop and perform physiologically relevant cell-based assays as required
  • Oversee laboratory processes and technologies as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD with 3-5 years of postgraduate experience; prior industry experience a plus
  • Extensive experience in liver derived cell cultures and/or induced hepatocyte-like cells
  • Experience with gene editing technologies including CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing preferred
  • Proficient in various cell and molecular biology technical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Scientifically rigorous, highly organized, and with significant attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in AAV production is preferred
